St Oliver Plunkett’s PS Receive Their P7 Leavers’ Hoodies

As part of the School Savers Scheme, we were delighted to contribute towards the purchase of St Oliver Plunkett’s PS P7 leavers’ hoodies. We hope these hoodies will provide the pupils with a meaningful keepsake as they celebrate the end of their primary school journey and prepare to embark on an exciting new chapter in their education.

The School Savers Scheme was established to encourage children to develop positive saving habits and a healthy understanding of money management from an early age. Research continues to show that financial behaviours and attitudes formed during childhood often remain throughout adult life. By introducing children to the importance of saving and financial responsibility early on, we can help equip them with valuable life skills that will benefit them well into the future.

At Portadown Credit Union, we are committed to ensuring that future generations are financially educated, confident, and empowered. Teaching children the value of money and the importance of regular saving can have a lasting impact, helping to build strong financial habits that remain with them for life. Through our regular school visits and continued engagement with pupils, we aim to support and encourage the development of lifelong financial awareness and responsible saving practices.

We are currently working to expand the School Savers Scheme to additional schools within the local community. As the programme continues to grow, new schools will be added in line with staff availability to ensure we can provide the best possible support and experience for pupils.
