Local member volunteers in Malawi

Portadown Credit Union recently made a donation to member Niamh Smyth who is travelling to Malawi in Southeast Africa in October with The Malawi Projects Charity. The charity is based in the Lurgan/Portadown area with a shop located at 28 Cornascriebe Road.

Volunteers on The Malawi Projects will be visiting the education, medical and farming projects in which they have previously funded, viewing how they operate, meeting the beneficiaries, helping where possible and contributing towards identifying future projects. 

In her most recent fundraising efforts, Niamh walked up Mount Snowdon to raise money to build a much needed school block for kids with disabilities. Niamh is aiming to raise £3,500 to cover the cost of the trip and support the incredible work happening on the ground.
