Local boy heads to Belgium to play ice hockey
Portadown Credit Union recently made a donation to support local boy Harvey Connelly, who will be representing Ireland as part of The Saints in Antwerp, Belgium, in May 2026. Harvey, aged 9 and from Portadown, has been playing inline hockey for four years. Over the past year, he has progressed to training and competing with the Belfast Junior Giants and Team Ireland (Irish Ice Hockey Association), through which he earned this exciting opportunity to take part in an international event.
The donation will help cover the costs associated with this fantastic experience, including his uniform, equipment, travel, and accommodation. To support Harvey’s fundraising efforts, a raffle is being held for a junior ice hockey stick signed by the Belfast Giants. You can buy a ticket here.
Everyone at Portadown Credit Union wishes Harvey an amazing trip and every success in his future ice hockey journey.
